If you’ve hung out here for any length of time (or heck, even visited once or twice) you know I’m a sap. I’m a sucker for the moment a bride puts her veil on and looks in the mirror and realizes “I’m really getting married today”. I choke tears back when her dad sees her for the first time, and when she takes that last deep breath before she walks down the aisle. I listen intently during the vows and remember the day I promised my own life to my husband, and all that those words entail. I beam from ear to ear when my bride and groom walk back up the aisle married and feel the contentment during their first dance.
With Lauren and Peter, it was all that and more. In the past year, C and I have gotten to know them, we’ve gone out to dinner, and really have a great connection. It was more than being honored to be a part of someone’s day, it was truly sharing in the happiness of a friend’s wedding.
All the mush aside, I can also say hands down this was the BEST ceremony of the season… as Peter vowed in an intently serious voice to promise his love and fertility to Lauren. Moments earlier I was wiping tears away, and suddenly (along with the rest of the church) I was desperately trying to contain my laughter. Lauren and Peter, thank you for choosing me to be a part of your day. It was an honor, and we are incredibly blessed for your friendship.
