Contest Winner(s)!!!

C and I have sat together for the past hour pouring over the entries for the Giving Is Awesome contest, and we’ve been beyond moved by the stories submitted.  The fact that so many people took time out of their busy lives to write up moving entries about those that they believe are deserving of a custom photography session is so amazing.  Thank you to each and everyone of you.

Based on the entries received, we have chosen Matt and Corby Roach as the official winners and recipients of the $1,000 prize.

Here’s the thing though… after reading all the stories, there were two others that we simply couldn’t say no to.  So we’ve decided to offer a free mini session with all images on disc and a 5×7 proof of each image to Melissa Galarza Guardian, and also to Paola and Nemo.  As I haven’t had the opportunity to speak with any of our winners myself at this point, I cannot share their stories, but I hope to be able to in the future.  Each is a story of heartache, of hope, and of amazing strength.

Thank you, and have a wonderful Christmas Eve!

Aniyah | CT Newborn Photographer

My Goddaughter.  Her mama and grandmama have been waiting for these pictures for quite some time, so without further adieu, here you go!

Bright eyed at only 7 days old!

After lots of snuggling though, we were able to get her to fall asleep…

And lastly… my favorite.

To Aniyah’s mama:  I am so proud of you and the beautiful woman you have become…. you are a wonderful mother to your little girl, and she is beyond lucky to have you.  I look at you holding her and I remember scooping you up in my arms when you were just a little girl yourself.  It makes me so grateful to have been here to witness your journey.  I love you.

Another Free Session Giveaway!

So you already know about the Giving is Awesome contest – where you nominate someone else for a free session.  We’ve recieved over 15 awesome entries and heartfelt stories about deserving families.  If you haven’t had a chance to nominate someone, you have until tonight at midnight and the winner will be announced on Christmas Eve.

BUT WAIT…..

It gets even better - you have another opportunity to win a free session – this time for YOURSELF!  Awhile ago, the awesome writers over at My Mom Genes contacted me to see if I would be willing to donate something to their December giveaways.  My answer?  Heck yeah!!!

It’s the holiday season, and I love being able to do my little part to spread the cheer.  So here’s the deal… you have to leave a comment on this post answering the following question:   I’m so glad I have a picture of ________, because ______.

I thought I might share the picture that I’m most grateful for.  I could look at it 100 times over, and it always brings me back to that day – that moment that my boys met for the first time, and a lifelong bond began.

Stay little | CT Newborn Photographer

It’s only for a moment that they’re this small, this snuggly, and fit this perfectly against your body.  I remember staring down at my own boys cozied up against me and wishing with all my soul that they would just stay little.  Stay this perfect tiny person that evoked awe and wonder.  It goes by so.fast. and moments like these need to be frozen.  To be enjoyed, to be reflected, to be remembered.
