I first met Baby Dave (as his beautiful mama affectionately calls him) back when he was just a few days old on possibly the hottest day of the summer last year.  Only seems fair that we met back up in the midst of the heat wave we had a few weeks ago for his one year portraits.  When Dave’s mom asked if I’d come down to their beach house on the shore for the session, I didn’t even skip a beat before agreeing.  From the moment I walked into this house, I felt at peace.  The sound of the ocean, the curious knick knacks placed around the house, the sea foam painted ceilings… I was in heaven.  Enjoy!

Kim, thank you for sharing your handsome guy with me over this past year.  It’s been so nice to get to know you guys!

It’s no secret that I love spending my days with these sweet brand new little people.  Even better then that though is being able to share that sense of overwhelming love that new parents have in those first few blurry days.  The days that you spend staring at your baby for hours on end, marveling at their amazing perfection – the love that you never knew you could have for your partner until you see them holding your child.  Yeah, Enzo’s parents have that, and I was honored to share a few hours with them.  Congratulations on your beautiful boy, I’m so excited to get to photograph his first year!

I’m not normally an over shooter – I typically take my time composing the shot, click my camera at the exact moment that I was waiting for, and then I move on.  It may be possible that I look 4,786 shots of Enzo in this position though.  Okay, not really – but I could have.  Don’t you just want to lean over and kiss his little cheeks off?

Last weekend Barbara and I had the great pleasure of being a part of Alyssa and Peter’s gorgeous wedding at Jonathon Edwards Winery in North Stonington.  It was arguably the most beautiful day of the summer, and these two only made it better.  From Alyssa’s stunning dress to Peter looking absolutely dashing in his dress blues, the storm clouds blowing in as they said their vows in the vineyard – sweet perfection!

I always love this moment – walking up the aisle as husband and wife!

Barbara grabbed this shot of Alyssa and her father dancing, and I couldn’t possibly love it any more.  How happy does he look?

Meet Miss Sophia – at 4 1/2 weeks old, she was bright eyed and interested in the world.  Such a sweet, happy little girl.

After a quick top off and some extra snuggles, we were able to get her to fall asleep just for a few minutes…

My friend Jayme (who is an amazing photographer, by the way) challenged a few of us to make an effort this weekend to photograph our own families.  If I’m honest – I spend so much time behind the camera that it’s sometimes easy to avoid picking it up on the weekends.  I decided to keep it simple – I took them all on my iphone and processed them with shakeit.  I knew that would let me really focus on the moments… the little memories that matter.   Impromptu backyard barbecues with friends, beautiful night skies, and heading out to breakfast with my favorite fellas.  I love this endless summer.
