Lauren and Peter | CT Wedding Photographer

If you’ve hung out here for any length of time (or heck, even visited once or twice) you know I’m a sap.  I’m a sucker for the moment a bride puts her veil on and looks in the mirror and realizes “I’m really getting married today”.  I choke tears back when her dad sees her for the first time, and when she takes that last deep breath before she walks down the aisle.  I listen intently during the vows and remember the day I promised my own life to my husband, and all that those words entail.  I beam from ear to ear when my bride and groom walk back up the aisle married and feel the contentment during their first dance.

With Lauren and Peter, it was all that and more.  In the past year, C and I have gotten to know them, we’ve gone out to dinner, and really have a great connection.  It was more than being honored to be a part of someone’s day, it was truly sharing in the happiness of a friend’s wedding.

All the mush aside, I can also say hands down this was the BEST ceremony of the season… as Peter vowed in an intently serious voice to promise his love and fertility to Lauren.  Moments earlier I was wiping tears away, and  suddenly (along with the rest of the church) I was desperately trying to contain my laughter.  Lauren and Peter, thank you for choosing me to be a part of your day.  It was an honor, and we are incredibly blessed for your friendship.

Venue:  The Society Room

Bride’s Dress:  Priscilla of Boston

Band: Silver Streaks (they put a hurting on the dance floor that night!)

Many many thanks to Barbara and Christa for spending the evening with me at this lavish affair!  All photos above are a mesh of our work from the night.

Madalyn | CT Newborn Photographer

Day six.  The most magical (photography) day in a new baby’s life.  It’s a developmental day, and that means lots and lots of sleeping…  Madalyn was the perfect “day sixer”, snoozing away and allowing me to gently move her without so much as a peep.  Congratulations R & C, she’s beautiful!

14 Days | CT Family Photographer

Two whole weeks without posting on my blog?  I’m not going to lie… I’m a bit ashamed of myself.  In the days leading up to Christmas I was working vigorously to get all last minute holiday orders out, which meant late nights and long lines at the post office.  I ignored sneak peeks in favor of getting galleries delivered in time, and then when the last package had been sent off, I looked around at my little family and breathed a deep sigh of relaxation.  We’ve spent the past few days lingering in our jammies on the couch under a massive quilt, snuggling just a little longer than we normally do.  We’ve had a revolving door of good friends, great food, and lasting memories made.  We’ve gone sledding and had impromptu dance parties, and laughed… and it’s been wonderful.  So while I might be a bit ashamed of neglecting my little corner of the internet, I’m not sorry for it.  I’ve loved soaking up every minute of our time together.

It’s time to get ease back in though, I have a few sessions in the works, and a beautiful wedding to share so check back in the next few days!  For now though, here’s a peek of sessions unshared.

I’m meeting the baby girl inside that beautiful belly on Friday, and I can’t wait!

We had another mini session with my little Aussie once his dad arrived stateside, and it was f-f-f-freeeeezing that morning!

And lastly, I meant to share this on Christmas day, but I was too busy watching my littles gush over Santa.  So, a few days late… our Christmas card.  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday full of love and laughter.

Mackenzie | CT Newborn Photographer

I still pinch myself to think that I was there when this little princess was born.  What an incredible journey I’ve had with this family, from their newborn session to Mackenzie’s arrival and then her newborn session.  I have the best job (and the best clients!) in the world.

Baby Henry | West Hartford Newborn Photographer

Now I love all my little hats and silly baby poses, but sometimes there’s just nothing as sweet as a brand new baby – pure and natural.  Meet Henry.  I’ve been photographing his big brother since he was just this tiny (technically even a bit smaller).

Aidan | CT Baby Photographer

To say meeting this little man was a long time coming would be the understatement of 2010.  You see I’ve “known” his mama since she was just a newlywed through an incredible online community I belong to.  I cheered silently when she announced she wanted a baby, and I cried real (happy) tears when she said she was finally pregnant.  I would have given anything to be able to do her newborn session, but there was just one little catch…. she lives in Australia.

So when Aidan’s mom sent me a message that they were coming home for Christmas and asked if I would photograph him, I agreed with a happy heart.  I couldn’t WAIT to meet this adorable little guy, and he lived up to everything I hoped…. oh, and his mom?  Just as awesome in person as I knew she’d be.  ;)

Oh yeah…

Yes, I certainly did laugh hysterically through my child’s first terrifying meeting with the jolly big guy…
