You know those people in life that you meet and your heart just kind of smiles and it feels like you’ve known them forever? Meghan and Justin are those people. From the first night I met with them, I knew I loved them already. I texted Barbara early the next morning to gush about them, and we both crossed all our crossables that they’d choose us to shoot their wedding. They’re just that awesome. So when Meghan emailed me to confirm, I was thrilled. We planned to head up to Boston for their engagement session, since they’re huge Red Sox fans, and the timing of it worked out kind of perfectly in that C was able to come with me and help out on the shoot too.
I always tell my couples when I’m meeting with them how important I think engagement sessions are. They give brides and grooms a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera, for me to see how they interact, but more than anything it’s a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better. I always expect to leave an engagement session feeling like I’ve gotten at least a little glimpse into who the couple is. With Meghan and Justin though, we got so much more. We had a blast with them hopping around the city – the conversation was easy, the banter was witty, they really felt like old friends. Like friends C and I would have crossed paths with somehow no matter what, because they’re those kind of people…. the kind of people that you know were meant to come into your life for one reason or another.
Oh, and I feel the need to mention that very first night when I met them – they joked about not being models, and confided that they were a little worried about being in front of the camera. I said it then, and I’ll say it again – NOTHING to worry about it. You guys rocked it! So much in fact, that despite the fact that this is a super huge mega share, this isn’t even close to half of the pictures I’ve already edited. I just finally had to stop myself from sharing them all!
