Meghan and Justin | CT Wedding Photographer

You know those people in life that you meet and your heart just kind of smiles and it feels like you’ve known them forever?  Meghan and Justin are those people.  From the first night I met with them, I knew I loved them already.  I texted Barbara early the next morning to gush about them, and we both crossed all our crossables that they’d choose us to shoot their wedding.  They’re just that awesome.  So when Meghan emailed me to confirm, I was thrilled.  We planned to head up to Boston for their engagement session, since they’re huge Red Sox fans, and the timing of it worked out kind of perfectly in that C was able to come with me and help out on the shoot too.

I always tell my couples when I’m meeting with them how important I think engagement sessions are.  They give brides and grooms a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera, for me to see how they interact, but more than anything it’s a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better.  I always expect to leave an engagement session feeling like I’ve gotten at least a little glimpse into who the couple is.  With Meghan and Justin though, we got so much more.  We had a blast with them hopping around the city – the conversation was easy, the banter was witty, they really felt like old friends.  Like friends C and I would have crossed paths with somehow no matter what, because they’re those kind of people…. the kind of people that you know were meant to come into your life for one reason or another.

Oh, and I feel the need to mention that very first night when I met them – they joked about not being models, and confided that they were a little worried about being in front of the camera.  I said it then, and I’ll say it again – NOTHING to worry about it.  You guys rocked it!  So much in fact, that despite the fact that this is a super huge mega share, this isn’t even close to half of the pictures I’ve already edited.  I just finally had to stop myself from sharing them all!

Salena and Danny | CT Wedding Photographer

Salena and Danny are getting married this weekend at a quaint little inn up in Vermont.  Barbara and I are very much looking forward their wedding, but for now… here’s a little peek into their engagement session that I did a few weeks ago.  Bright and early in the morning, the sun shone down on these two as Danny’s fingers strummed his guitar and music filled the park.  These two together, are purely amazing.

Mollie and Paul | CT Wedding Photographer

From the very first email inquiry I got from Mollie about her wedding, I knew I loved her.  We just clicked instantly, and when I finally met her and her fiance Paul a little over a week ago, I knew why.  Together, they are one of those couples that you meet on vacation and feel like you’ve known your whole lives.  They both have infectious smiles, and clear, kind hearts.  They are both incredibly easy to talk to, and I absolutely cannot wait for their wedding next year.

Also, ladies… can we just stop for a second and gush about Mollie’s hair?  It’s even more amazing in person, I swear.

Christina and Mike | CT Wedding Photographer

I met up with Christina and Mike last week on one of those beautiful spring like days we had, and we explored the campus of Yale together.  These two swore they weren’t great in front of the camera, but they were amazing.  Engagement sessions are such a great time for me to get to know my couples better, to see how they are in front of the camera, and more importantly – for them to get to know me and see how I work, from the touchy feely way I have with posing to the verbal nonsense that flows out of my mouth.  They are fun, relaxed sessions with a little bit of sass thrown in there, and these two rocked it!

Mike and Christina – I can’t wait for your wedding!!

Amanda and Jake | CT Wedding Photography

You know those people you meet that 3 seconds into your first conversation you feel like you’ve known them forever?  The ones that become instant friends because there just isn’t an option not to be, almost as if it were already mapped out for you?  Amanda and Jake are those people.  From my first chance meeting with Amanda, I just knew that I wanted to be a part of her wedding day… and when I met Jake and saw them together, I was 100% certain.  These two have “it”.  That chemistry that you can’t deny, the love that is so visible you are forced to take notice.  During their engagement session, I did minimal directing… they just knew what to do – to be together and in love – and it shows.

We had originally planned to try and do a snowy engagement session, thinking just a dusting on the ground with snow softly falling around them… but well, we all know how this winter turned out.  So we went a totally different route, and I’m so glad we did.  Love these images.

The hat, the lamp posts, the kiss.  Love this one!

Sarah and Phil | CT Wedding Photographer

He makes her laugh, she has a gorgeous smile… these two are getting married this winter at St Clement’s Castle, and a quick chat about details has me so excited for February to arrive.  I can’t wait… the wedding is going to be gorgeous!  For now though, here is the happy couple…. and they tried to tell me they weren’t any good in front of the camera.  I beg to differ.

Mark and Jenny | CT Engagement Photos

Mark and Jenny are getting married in just a few weeks at the historic Red Lion Inn, and I can’t wait.  We met up a few weeks ago for some sweet engagement photos, and despite saying they were shy in front of the camera, they nailed it!

I have a TON of sessions to share with you this week, I’m up to my eyeballs in editing!
