Three | CT Child Photography

It’s an age I admittedly get a little shaky in the knees about photographing.  Three year olds aren’t usually all that into the camera, and they’re even less interested in direction.  Imagine my surprise when E was a totally willing, and happy subject!

Those blue eyes are going to break hearts someday!

Ten on Tuesday

1.  The house is quiet.

2.  C has gone back to work today, L.A. is back to daycare, and P2 is sleeping soundly next to me.  Though our week home as a family of four can be summed up entirely by the picture below, I miss the chaos already, and it’s only been a few hours.

3.  I’ve seen enough spit up in the past few days to last me a lifetime.  Poor P2 has a serious case of reflux, and neither of us are getting much sleep.  Our washing machine however, is getting a serious work out.

4.  Now that we’ve had some time to settle in a little, I’ve been thinking a lot about what being a mom of two boys means.  A friend of mine, who also has a son and is currently pregnant with #2 (sex unknown) said to me while I was still pregnant “It really sort of shapes the course of your life if you have two boys versus one girl and one boy”.  I’ve thought about that conversation so many times since that day, and it’s so true.  I can’t wait to see where our course leads.

5.  If this is even a glimpse of what I have to look forward to enjoying in the next few years, I can’t wait.  I love the two of them, so engaged… so into their own little world.  More than anything, I love the “vroom” you can see on C’s lips.  These two little boys are so lucky to have him.

6.  So many people have asked how I’m feeling, and how my recovery has been… first of all, thank you for all of the inquiries, I really appreciate them.  I’ve been feeling great though.  I think having everyone home together helped immensely in the recovery process… even if just emotionally.

7.  As I blog this, I’m enjoying an incredible pumpkin cream cheese muffin from The Black Dog Bakery on Martha’s Vineyard that my dad dropped off on his way home from the island last night.  Nothing else quite reminds me of spending family time together as this little muffin does.  It’s a treat that C and my dad usually pick up on their way home from an early morning fishing expedition when we spend our annual long weekend together there.

8.  Just one more from the mini session I subjected C to yesterday.  I love baby yawns.

9.  Now that we’re entering into a quiet of new normal around here, I have lots of fun ideas for summer sessions, and plan to scout some new and interesting locations.  If you happen to know of one that you think would be cool, shoot me an email, or leave it in the comments below!

10.  I promised that after P2’s arrival there would be Summer Specials to celebrate.  Be sure to check back this week, as I’ll have them posted by Friday at the latest!

Confession…. and an offer

Sometimes I really just have nothing interesting to blog about.  It’s been nearly a week since I last posted, and while I have a few things rolling around my head, nothing that has been wrapped up nice and neat to make it blog worthy.  I also realize that “interesting” may be a relative term here.  ;)

So, I’ve decided to go ahead and put it out there that I will answer any question left in the comments section of this post or emailed to me at crista@cristaacosta.com.  Questions can be about anything – my personal life, technical or general photography stuff, editing questions, questions about my family, my thoughts, or just random ones.

This blog gets over 150 hits a day from readers all across the world, so I’d love to hear from you!  Go ahead, ask me anything you can think of.

I plan to leave this post open until Saturday night for new questions, and then I’ll start working on all the responses.  :)

Nyla and Zayne | CT Child Photographer

These two could not have been any cuter, and they’re almost the same age difference that L.A. and P2 will be, so it was nice to have a sneak peek into what our crazy life will be like in a few years.  Crazy, but FUN!

I could not love this first shot any more… the look on Zayne’s face says it all!

Frankenbaby

That’s L.A.’s nickname around our house these days since his practice steps always involve his hands either straight out in front of him or stretched way up in the air.

Ugh… don’t you just want to squeeze that little tushy?

Oh, and here’s proof we’re still living in the land of incoming molars.  The hands are always in his mouth.

I have some client sessions coming up in the next few days, so I’ll be sharing some things other than just my little guy.  Happy Friday everyone!
