I haven’t seen these two since they were way teeny tiny and they have grown so much! I do have to share a little funny story… I sort of pride myself on my ability to connect with children very quickly. To get to your child to open up and give real, silly smiles the first time they meet me… but sometimes that doesn’t happen. Sometimes someone may take a tumble .32 seconds into the session, and no matter what any of the adults do, there is no kind of happy face going to happen. Sometimes, you just have to know when to call it a day and try again. That’s what happened the first time I saw these little ladies, but we wound up meeting up a few days later – moods were better, the weather was warmer, and we got some of my favorite images of all time. This first one, and the black and white below of the same set up are some of my favorite images ever!

I love me some little Jake. I’ve been photographing him since he was a wee little one, and he’s so full of energy and jokes now. I always look forward to spending time with him, and his dapper wardrobe and perfect politeness are just a bonus!

And for sillies… here Jake is demonstrating Spiderman’s amazing webs for me.

When you cross a referral from one of my favorite families, two gorgeous parents and a sweet little two year old boy on a perfect October morning, you get this. Oh Enzo, I love this guy’s goofy little smile. Editing his session has had me in a great mood, not only because he’s adorable, but because his parents are the kind of people I enjoy. It was such a pleasure getting to know this family and watching this little guy grow over the past year. That’s the only downside of my Baby Planners turning one, that I typically don’t see them again until closer to their second birthday. I can’t wait to see how much this cutie has grown by then!

I hadn’t seen Zoe since last fall when she was still just a tiny peanut, and here she is at almost a year old walking all over the place and joking around with the sweetest little personality you could ask for. I’ve said it before, but it needs to be said again – I LOVE my Baby Planners… getting to watch a child grow and change within that first year of their life is such an incredible honor. Surely it seems once you have children the years fly by far too quickly, but none is as special or notable as that first year. To think a mere 12 months ago she was just a few pounds of squishy newborn love. D & L, thank you so much for letting me share in Zoe’s first year!!

I can’t believe how quickly the past year has flown by. The last time I saw Violet, she was toddling around her yard and now here she is almost two, full of confidence and spunk.

The rain boots on a sunny day in June? love.

We took a walk down to the train station, where Violet happily put on a little dance performance for us as we waited.

…and how do you know the session is over? When little miss starts making this face. She’s even cute when she pouts!

These adorable boys (and their sweet mama) drove all the way from New Hampshire to have a session with me, and I’m not gonna lie – I was feeling the pressure. As my luck would have it, the boys were beyond adorable, and I was able to capture some mama-baby love I only wish I had pictures of with my own little peanuts. Enjoy, S!
