Jacob | Fairfield Child Photographer

Talk about watching a child grow…. the first time I met this little guy he could just barely sit unsupported, and the other day he counted to 10 in Greek for me.  My job rocks.  I’m trying to crank out edits, orders, and not ruin holiday surprises, so here’s just a quick peek!

Beebo!

Madison and Briley | CT Child Photographer | West Hartford Child Photographer

I had a special connection with Madison and Briley’s mom in that our children are nearly the same age, and are very close in spacing.  We chatted about raising children so close together and shared the look between moms who have been in the trenches.  Luckily though, these two little girls were nothing like my dudes in that they were happy to smile and look at the camera.  Oh, what I wouldn’t give!!

I’m not going to share the sister pictures that I think might make the holiday card this year, so instead… here’s a quiet moment of love.

Brendan | CT Child Photographer | CT Family Portraits

What a treat this session was – beautiful family, adorable little man, and another gorgeous morning at Harkness.  I couldn’t have planned it better if I tried.

Kennadi’s Closet Kiddos | CT Child Photographer

Back in the early summer, I was contacted by Jenn of Kennadi’s Closet to do a session for her sweet kiddos.  Kennadi’s Closet is a new children’s consignment shop right down in the center of Windsor, located next to the train station.  It’s an amazing old brick building, and Jenn has a huge selection of clothing, toys, strollers – you name it, she’s got it.   Jenn told me about her idea of using portraits of her own children as art for the shop’s exposed brick walls, and I was sold.  We were both excited, and then weather – sick kids – traveling husbands – you name it, it seemed we were doomed to ever actually make the session happen.  Somewhere along the way after exchanging tons of emails, we decided to get our families together (our husbands play basketball together) and a new friendship was born – yay for that!  Finally last week we were able to make their photo session happen, and it was worth every minute of the wait.

CJ = future heartbreaker.

I love the way Olivia looks at her little sister.  They absolutely adore each other.

…and the star of the show – Miss Kennadi herself.  I could eat this little one up, I swear.  She is SUCH a doll.

The M Family | Connecticut Family Photography

What a gorgeous family, and in a way semi sort of related to me (maybe)?  Mom is the sister of one of my aunts (by marriage), so I guess not technically related at all, but I like to think of most of my clients as family anyway, and the M family is no different.

Big sister Abby was far and away one of my best helpers and greatest models I’ve had this holiday season.  We talked about the American Girl dolls, and she helped me test my light out, she was so much fun to photograph – and gorgeous too!

Matthew wasn’t sure of me AT ALL, but a couple silly conversations between us without me even holding the camera, and look what I got!  Love this one.   It’s like he’s saying, okay maaaaaaybe I’ll trust you.

and lastly, sweet little Leah.  Such a doll, and loved so much by her family.  I want to reach through and just squeeze those little cheeks.

Jake | CT Child Photographer

One of my favorite little guys (and I adore his parents, too!).  I couldn’t believe how much he’d grown since the last time I saw him. He seemed to remember me though, and flashed me a flirty smile as soon as I walked in the door.  Love that.  If I wasn’t up to my eyeballs in work, I’d seriously share every image from this session because I love them ALL.  Thanks for your patience, K!

For kicks, click here to see just how teeny Jake was in this chair last year.

Familiar Face | CT Child Photographer

I’ve photographed Lucas more times than I can count now, and every time I do is more fun than the last time.  By now, he knows what I’m up to, but he was totally on board with being my little model.  At one point he even stopped me and pointed to a cute little doorstep and said “Do you want me to sit here for you?”  Umm… yes, little buddy I sure do!

i’ll admit it | CT Child Photographer

I totally bribed my sick child today to sit still for 3 seconds with the promise of a gigantic lollipop.  I knew I had just one shot before he ran away, but it was worth trying since he usually avoids eye contact at all costs once he sees the big black camera.

Turns out, I wound up loving the lollipop pictures even more.

I’m still not sure how we got here.  When exactly did my tiny baby become this little boy?

He’s my little stinker… my funny, too smart for all of our good, temperamental little brute.  He doesn’t seem to know his own strength, yet has been amazingly gentle and kind with his little brother.  Though I’m a little worried they’re already conspiring against me.  I didn’t check for sure, but I’m willing to venture a guess as to which finger this it.
