It’s hard to believe that it’s been (over) a year since I’ve seen this adorable little guy. I deliberately told my husband that this shoot would likely be a tough one because two year old boys are known for it… but Anthony shocked me! Not only did he hold my hand from the moment he got out of the car, he kept the sweetness coming.
I headed out of my house a little past 6:30 (am!!) on Saturday to meet these little dudes and their parents for a bright and early session. Sawyer and Chase have energy I can only dream of ever having – and though my two boys aren’t twins – I felt like this was a little sneak peek into the future. It involves A LOT of running to keep up! ;) Amidst the running and exploring though, there were lots of sweet quiet moments.
As a mom, I could not love this more. Please Big Guy Up There, if you’re listening… let my boys still snuggle like this when they’re four.
We got some very cool traditional family portraits in this spot, but I’m not gonna lie – the in between moments are always my favorites.

These boys just make me smile.
I realize it’s still August, and we’re about to get hit with a heat wave here that will put the holidays far from all of our minds, but don’t be fooled – it’s right around the corner! I was just reviewing my schedule and realized that I actually only have 3 weekend dates still available before the holiday cutoff which will be November 13th. I want to allow plenty of time for you to choose your images, and for me to get them printed and back out to you. I have an amazing selection of holiday cards this year that will wow your family and friends, but because of this we need the time for designing and revisions, and no one wants to be down to the wire on sending out their cards (says the girl who is always standing in the massive line at the post office a week before Christmas).
So, if you’re interested in a session before the holidays – please email me as soon as possible. I may be setting up one day of mini sessions, I’ll announce that on the blog in the next week or so. I will continue to have weekday availability on Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays if that works for your schedule, and as always – I allow plenty of room in my calendar for the new babies I’m expecting. Newborns will be the only sessions I take on in the month of December.
To leave you with a little Friday love, here’s my sweet squishy faced P2. Man, I love this boy… with his surfer curls and that crooked little smile that hasn’t changed since he was a tiny wee one. What has changed though is those big brown peepers. Where bright eyed innocence once lived there is now mischief and curiosity.
I first met Baby Dave (as his beautiful mama affectionately calls him) back when he was just a few days old on possibly the hottest day of the summer last year. Only seems fair that we met back up in the midst of the heat wave we had a few weeks ago for his one year portraits. When Dave’s mom asked if I’d come down to their beach house on the shore for the session, I didn’t even skip a beat before agreeing. From the moment I walked into this house, I felt at peace. The sound of the ocean, the curious knick knacks placed around the house, the sea foam painted ceilings… I was in heaven. Enjoy!
