Myla made her entrance into this world just shy of 33 weeks into her mama’s pregnancy. Despite her early and unexpected arrival, her parents seem like old pros at this parenting thing. This little peanut is quite possibly the smiliest baby I’ve ever photographed, and definitely one of the sleepiest I’ve had in a while.

There are some things in life worth waiting for… this snuggly, sleepy shot was definitely worth the hours it took us to get there. When I arrived A & E’s mom let me know that Emma was known as the diva in their house, but she ironically slept the entire time I was there. It was little Amelia that didn’t want to miss anything. In the end though, we lulled her into cooperation, and it was well worth it!
I have tons more cute images from this session, but I’m up to my ears in editing with sessions (sometimes doubles!) happening almost every day this week. I promise to be back to share more when I come up for air. :)
I’ve been buuuuuusy. Shooting 4-5 (sometimes more) sessions a week and loving it!! Sadly, this has left me a little back on my blogging. This week should get me all caught up to date though, so if you’re waiting for your own session – keep checking!
In the meantime, going back a few weeks now when we were in the midst of that crazy heat wave I met this adorable little man. His mom contacted me way back in February when she was just pregnant (LOVE that!) and we’ve been waiting for him ever since. Their house had an amazing covered front porch – the kind I imagine sitting on a rocking chair and holding hands with your love as evening starts to fall. Since it was so hot and muggy outside, we did the entire session right there on the front porch. After a quick top off, Kaleb was in his glory, snoozing away outside in this comfy little nest.
It’s no secret that I love spending my days with these sweet brand new little people. Even better then that though is being able to share that sense of overwhelming love that new parents have in those first few blurry days. The days that you spend staring at your baby for hours on end, marveling at their amazing perfection – the love that you never knew you could have for your partner until you see them holding your child. Yeah, Enzo’s parents have that, and I was honored to share a few hours with them. Congratulations on your beautiful boy, I’m so excited to get to photograph his first year!
I’m not normally an over shooter – I typically take my time composing the shot, click my camera at the exact moment that I was waiting for, and then I move on. It may be possible that I look 4,786 shots of Enzo in this position though. Okay, not really – but I could have. Don’t you just want to lean over and kiss his little cheeks off?

Originally I had planned to meet Emma at just 5 days old, but one of my little guys was sick and I finally got to meet her last week. 10 days new and and a picture of snuggly perfection. As I was rocking her and pulling out all the stops trying to get her to go to sleep, I looked over at her mom and said “This is the best part of my job”. It’s true, and it’s such an honor and a gift that parents invite me into their homes to spend time with their brand new babies. Thank you K & S for letting me capture your new daughter and share in more of your memories.
She has the most beautiful little blond lashes. They’re so fair, I was worried that I wasn’t going to be able to capture them.
While Emma took a break to eat, I went outside with her big sister and Daddy.
She’s here!! When I first laid eyes on this little munchkin, I could NOT get over how much she looks exactly like her little brother did at his newborn session. Genetics are a pretty amazing thing, I swear if they aren’t labeled the baby pictures for these two will get mixed up twenty years from now. K & D – you make some beauuutiful children!
Oh sweet boy. Sweet little sleep fighter. I didn’t think Ryan was going to fall asleep at all at his session. He was bright eyed and checking out the world. When he finally did though, he was so cooperative. It just takes a little patience!
