Jill and Chris | CT Wedding Photographer

Last Saturday Jill and Chris got married at the gorgeous Silas Robbins House.  It was overcast, muggy, and the sky kept threatening to open up and pour down.  Some brides would be stressed out, given that the ceremony was outside, but Jill didn’t care – as long as she and Chris got married.  Funny how that works, all those months of planning and stressing over details and when it really comes down to it, the only important thing is that you walk back up that aisle together.  Jill and Chris didn’t walk so much as they danced back up the aisle with a rocking band playing in the background!

Congratulations guys, it was such a pleasure working with you!!

This is always one of my favorite moments at weddings – the groom’s reaction when he sees his bride coming down the aisle.  There is so much raw emotion there, and Chris got me choked up with his expression.

Yay!!!

Venue:  Silas Robbins House

Catering: Ascot Catering

Band: Call 2 Consciousness

Allison and Kevin {married!!} | CT Wedding Photographer

When I first met Allison and Kevin for dinner, I confessed that I’m a complete sap and half jokingly warned them that there was a good chance I might cry on their wedding day.  I know it sounds silly, but weddings will always get to me.  Watching two people stand up in front of everyone they love and promise to love each other – it gives me goosebumps just writing it.  I had the distinct pleasure of being a part of Allison and Kevin’s day at St Clement’s Castle, and I couldn’t have enjoyed myself more.   Congratulations Allison and Kevin!

Allison and Kevin decided to do a first look (yay!) and for those that worry about seeing each other before the ceremony – check out the emotion between these two.

Not gonna lie, Kevin’s face when he saw Allison walking down the aisle was definitely one of the moments I teared up.

A very huge thank you to Barbara for shooting this wedding with me!!

Congratulations again, guys!

Charlie + Ashley | CT Engagement Photographer | CT Wedding Photographer

There are some couples that are just meant to be together… and there are some couples I was just meant to meet.  Ashley’s mom lives across the street from C and I, and if I’m being honest, she’s pretty much the reason we bought this house.  We had looked at about 20 different homes, but as we were looking at this one she came over and introduced herself and told us all about the neighborhood.  It was exactly what we were looking for, and more.  So when she contacted me back in January about possibly photographing her daughter’s wedding I was thrilled.

When I met Charlie and Ashley, it went from thrilled to over the moon.  These two are so kind and sweet, completely in love, and gorgeous to boot.  When we met on Tuesday night at Elizabeth Park, Ashley said “we’re not models or anything…” Um, honey – I beg to differ.  I CAN’T wait for your wedding this September!!

Kasey and Christian | CT Wedding Photographer

Kasey and I have been chatting for months now about her October wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills.  Since her wedding is here in Connecticut, but she and her fiance live in Boston, we thought it would be a great idea to do their session in the city they love so much.  Bonus points for the fact that this session was an excuse for C and I to spend a night alone – away from the kiddos.

We met early in the morning, and from the moment we walked into their home and were greated with hugs, like old friends – I knew it would be a good day.  So we set off to explore the city together.  Kasey and Christian – We had such a blast with you – can’t wait for your wedding!!

Lauren + Peter | CT Engagement Photographer

Prepare yourself for an abundance of awesomeness. C and I met up with Lauren and Peter over the weekend for their amazing engagement shoot. These two swore they didn’t know what they were doing in front of the camera, but I think the pictures below tell a different story. They were total naturals, and so much fun to hang out with. They laughed at my not so funny jokes and were completely at ease with each other.  They are totally that couple that anticipates each other’s next move and were simply meant for each other.  Lauren and Pete – thanks for such a great time, and for saving my run away reflector.  Can’t wait to see you guys again soon!

Yooooowsers!

A quick note about why having two photographers is so totally worth it.  While I shot this:

C shot this: (WOW!)

When I was shooting this:

C was shooting this (the next one is his too):

Khara + Bronson | CT Wedding Photographer

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of accompanying Tania Sones to a beautiful wedding at Wickham Park.

As Khara slipped into her dress she took a deep breath, placed her hands on her rib cage and exhaled softly.  ”It’s starting to sink in” she said with a nervous smile.  Just then her friend walked into the suite, “Did you see Bronson?” she asked.  ”I saw him Khara.  He looks gorgeous, and he smells amazing – you’re going to cry” she said.  Just like that, Khara’s face relaxed and her eyes filled with excitement.  It was her day, and it was going to be wonderful.  (it was!)

Khara and Bronson, thank you for letting me share your day!

I love this shot of Khara looking up at her dress as it hung in the window

Heeeello, gorgeous!

loooved the light here…

I love Khara’s expression here as she watches Bronson dane with his mom

I came outside to get the shot above, and when I glanced to my left I saw this image.

One of my favorite images of the night.  Amidst the chaos of their party (and it was a PARTY!) Khara and Bronson danced as if they were the only two people in the world.

Thanks again Tania for having me shoot with you!
